Location
Creating a new outlet to relieve the traffic congestion on the current road at Camp al-Rashid, passing through the Dora Expressway, which experiences a high traffic density, as it will contribute to connecting the capital with the southern and western provinces via Highway 1.
The first part consists of a road 9200 meters long and 30 meters wide, with shoulders three meters wide on each side along the route, connecting the Dora and Hour Rajab areas on the western side and ending at the Za’afaraniya area on the eastern side of the Tigris River.
The second part of the project is the Ghazza Bridge, with a total length including approaches of 1000 meters and a width of 23.5 meters, comprising 6 spans, with the concrete part measuring 384 meters and being constructed using the incremental launching method. The French company Freyssinet, specialized in this type of bridges, was contracted for this, involving the pouring of heavy segments weighing between two thousand tons to twenty-three thousand tons each at the final span of the bridge.
The third part of the project is a bridge crossing the Dora-Yusufiya Road for the express traffic, 700 meters long including approaches, comprising 4 spans of 25 meters each and 104 meters for the concrete bridge.
The fourth part, the Za’afaraniya Bridge at the entrance of the Companies Street, is 620 meters long including approaches, with a single span of 54 meters for the concrete part, aimed at organizing the flow of traffic and systematically connecting it between Za’afaraniya Main Street 99 and Companies Street.
