The project includes bridge and road works, which involve the rehabilitation and maintenance of the public road (Baghdad – Al-Kut) in the second phase, connecting from the power station intersection to Basmaya Residential Complex, with a length of 7 km. This also includes a central island with a width of 8 meters and widening the main road on both sides to a total width of 16 meters on each side, along with creating an outer shoulder for the main public road with a width of 3 meters on each side.

Two service roads will be constructed with two lanes (one for each direction) along the current road for 7 km, with a width of 8 meters on each side, inner shoulders (next to the central island) of 2.5 meters, and outer shoulders (next to the main road) of 2.5 meters. Additionally, a central island along the 7 km public road will separate the main road from the service road with a width of 7.25 meters, isolated by a concrete safety fence with drainage ditches on both sides of the concrete safety fence to drain rainwater to culverts outside the boundaries of the new public road.

The existing culverts will be extended and relocated outside the service road and its shoulders. A new water network will be constructed parallel to the old water network, extending along the 7 km road on both sides and within the boundaries of the road but outside the main road, service road, and central island, using ductile water pipes with diameters of 300, 400, 500, and 600 mm.
